Box 2029, Dundas, ON L8N 359 Tel: 905-628-8800 In 2018, Carmeuse received Site-Specific Standard approvals for Calcium Oxide (also called Lime) and Suspended Particulate Matter (dust) from the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks under Section 32 of Ontario Regulation 419/05 Air Pollution - Local Air Quality. Lime is produced by heating limestone and is used in many applications including steel manufacturing, construction, remediation, water treatment, mining, and production of many consumer goods. Annual Public Information Meetings have been held to inform the public of Carmeuse's progress in completing the Action Plan initiatives to reduce emissions. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic concerns and restrictions, the Public Information Meeting must be held virtually rather than in-person.
